How Much Does a Destination Wedding in Spain Cost? 2026 Budget Guide

Real numbers, honest breakdowns, and everything you need to know before you start planning. No generic estimates — this is what weddings in Barcelona and Costa Brava actually cost in 2026.

This is the question every couple asks within the first five minutes of an enquiry call. And it deserves a real answer — not a vague range, not a "it depends on everything," but actual numbers based on real weddings in the venues and regions where we work.

We are Casamiga Weddings, a full-service destination wedding planning company based in Barcelona. We have planned more than 100 weddings in Spain for couples from the USA, UK, EU, Singapore, and Australia. Here is what a wedding in Spain actually costs in 2026.

The Three Budget Categories We Work With

Before the breakdown, a framework. At Casamiga Weddings, we think about wedding budgets in three bands:

  • Boutique (€30,000–€60,000): 40–70 guests, garden or clifftop ceremony venue, ceremony + dinner, full Casamiga Weddings planning

  • Standard (€60,000–€120,000): 70–120 guests, premium venue with on-site accommodation or exclusive hire, two-day elements

  • Grand (€120,000+): 120–200+ guests, full exclusive hire of a castle or estate, multiple days, custom everything

These are all-in numbers — venue, catering, flowers, photography, Casamiga's fee, and everything else. Below is the breakdown of what goes into each.

Venue Hire — What You Actually Pay

Venue hire is typically the first line item and one of the most variable. Here are the 2026 real numbers for our partner venues:

  • Jardines de Santa Clotilde (ceremony only): €2,000 – €6,500 depending on zone

  • Casa de Santa Clotilde (exclusive villa): €17,000

  • Jardines Marimurtra (ceremony + banquet zone): from €11,000

  • Convent de Blanes: €6,600 – €12,500

  • Castell Empordà: from €7,000 + mandatory room hire

  • Bell Recó: €7,000 – €10,500 + ceremony zone (€1,500–€3,500)

  • Xalet de Nin: €14,000 – €16,000

  • Masia Casa del Mar: €8,000 – €12,500

These are venue hire costs only — not including catering, which is the largest single line item for most weddings.

Catering — Where the Budget Really Goes

Catering is consistently the highest single cost in a Spanish destination wedding. Minimum F&B (food and beverage) spends for our partner venues in 2026:

  • Casa de Santa Clotilde: min. €250 per guest

  • Convent de Blanes: min. €250 per guest

  • Bell Recó: min. €200 per guest (external caterers permitted)

  • Masia Casa del Mar: min. €200 per guest (external caterers permitted)

  • Castell Empordà: min. €150 per guest

  • Xalet de Nin: min. €250 per guest

For a 70-guest wedding at a venue with a €250/guest minimum, catering alone is €17,500 — before drinks, which typically add €30–€60 per person. A realistic catering budget for 70 guests at a quality Costa Brava venue is €20,000–€30,000.

Photography & Videography

For destination weddings with international couples, photography is non-negotiable — and good destination wedding photography is not cheap. Budget ranges in 2026:

  • Photography only (8–10 hours, 1 photographer): €2,500–€5,000

  • Photography + second shooter: €3,500–€6,500

  • Photography + video (60–90 second highlight reel): €5,000–€9,000

  • Full documentary video + photo: €8,000–€15,000+

Flowers & Decoration

Floral budgets vary enormously by style and scale. Realistic 2026 ranges:

  • Bridal flowers only (bouquet, boutonnières, ceremony arch): €1,500–€3,500

  • Ceremony flowers + table centrepieces for 60 guests: €4,000–€8,000

  • Full wedding floral design (ceremony, cocktail, tables, lighting accents): €8,000–€20,000+

Music & Entertainment

  • Ceremony musician (string duo, acoustic guitarist): €600–€1,200

  • Cocktail hour live music: €800–€2,000

  • DJ (evening reception, 5–6 hours): €1,500–€3,000

  • Live band (4–6 piece): €4,000–€10,000+

What Makes Spain a Good Value vs. Other European Destinations

The same wedding that costs €70,000 in Spain would typically cost €100,000–€130,000 in Italy (Tuscany, Amalfi) and €90,000–€120,000 in France (Provence, Dordogne). Why? Lower labour costs, no per-guest corkage markups on alcohol (wine is simply cheaper), and a more competitive supplier market — especially in Catalonia, which has a mature destination wedding industry.

The weather calendar also helps. Spain's wedding season runs from May through October reliably. November through April offers dramatically lower venue hire costs (30–50% less) with milder weather than most couples expect — Barcelona averages 15–18°C in March and April.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Destination Wedding in Spain Cost

What is the minimum budget for a wedding in Spain with a planner?

For a full-service wedding with Casamiga — including venue, catering, flowers, photography, and our planning fee — for 40–50 guests at a garden or clifftop venue, budgets start from approximately €35,000–€45,000. This assumes a ceremony-only venue combined with a dinner venue, not a premium exclusive-hire estate. Contact us for a personalised estimate based on your specific brief.

Is Spain cheaper than Italy for a destination wedding?

Yes, typically by 20–40%. The comparison varies significantly by venue type and supplier choices, but Catalonia has a more competitive supplier market, lower labour costs, and generally more transparent venue pricing than the most popular Italian destinations. Our team can provide a direct cost comparison based on your brief if you're deciding between countries.

Do I need a wedding planner for a destination wedding in Spain?

If you're planning from abroad — the USA, UK, Singapore, Australia — you effectively cannot manage a Spanish wedding without a local team. The reasons are practical: language (almost all vendors operate primarily in Spanish), legal requirements (ceremony permits, civil documentation), and on-the-day logistics that require physical presence. Casamiga exists precisely for international couples in this situation. Our fee is typically the best value line item in your entire budget.
