About Jardines de Santa Clotilde

Perched on a clifftop between Cala Boadella and Fenals Beach in Lloret de Mar, Jardines de Santa Clotilde are among the most visually extraordinary wedding ceremony settings in Spain. Designed in 1919 by landscape architect Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí for the Marquis of Roviralta, the gardens span 26,830 m² of sculpted Mediterranean terraces and panoramic views of the Costa Brava coastline. The gardens are available for wedding ceremonies only — food service is not permitted on-site. Most couples combine the ceremony here with dinner and dancing at the adjacent Casa de Santa Clotilde or a nearby Costa Brava venue.

A Ceremony Venue Like No Other — And What Comes Next

Jardines de Santa Clotilde is a ceremony-only venue — and that is precisely what makes it extraordinary. Food and drink are not served in the gardens. Instead, Casamiga designs your complete wedding day around this principle: the ceremony in one of the most beautiful settings in Spain, followed by a curated dinner and reception at a partner venue of your choice nearby.

The most popular combination? Ceremony at Jardines de Santa Clotilde — cocktails and dinner at the adjacent Casa de Santa Clotilde, the private historic villa on the same estate. Two venues, one seamless day, an experience that no single location can replicate.

Ceremony Spaces — Garden Terrace & Amphitheatre

Two distinct ceremony configurations are available: the central garden terrace — intimate, sculpted, framed by cypress trees — for up to 120 guests; and the natural amphitheatre for celebrations of up to 200. Each provides a completely different perspective on the Costa Brava coastline below.

A Historic Setting with International Recognition

The gardens are a prime example of Catalan Noucentisme — a movement that combined classical form with Mediterranean nature. The Girona Convention Bureau awarded them the Most Outstanding Site, and they have been a member of the European Route of Historic Gardens since 2017, one of only 40 certified cultural routes in Europe. Internationally, they gained further recognition as a filming location for HBO's House of the Dragon.

Ceremony Spaces at Jardines de Santa Clotilde

The gardens offer multiple terrace areas for ceremonies, including the famous Mermaid Staircase — flanked by century-old cypress trees and facing the open sea — and the natural amphitheatre suited to larger gatherings. Each space provides a different perspective on the cliffs and coastline below.

How Casamiga Plans Your Wedding at Jardines de Santa Clotilde

We know these gardens well — their permit process, their terrace logistics, and the moments each space creates best. Here is how we make your wedding here seamless.

Step 1 — Venue Access & Permit Coordination

Jardines de Santa Clotilde is a protected municipal heritage site managed by the Lloret de Mar town council. We handle all event permit applications, access coordination, and compliance requirements on your behalf — navigating the municipal process in Spanish so you don't have to.

Step 2 — Ceremony Design & Two-Venue Planning

Most weddings here combine the gardens for the ceremony with a nearby venue for dinner and dancing. We design the full day as one seamless experience — choosing the right terrace for your guest count, arranging private transport between locations, and timing every transition so the flow feels effortless.

Step 3 — On-Site Team on Your Wedding Day

Our team is present from vendor setup through to the end of the evening — coordinating florists, musicians, photographers, catering arrivals, and guest management across the clifftop site. You see only the gardens. We manage everything behind them.

Frequently asked questions about the Jardines de S. Clotilde

Can you have a full wedding — ceremony and dinner — at Jardines de Santa Clotilde?

The gardens are a ceremony-only venue — food and drink are not permitted within Jardines de Santa Clotilde. For the reception and dinner, Casamiga designs a seamless continuation at a second venue. The most natural pairing is the adjacent Casa de Santa Clotilde — cocktails, dinner, and dancing in the same historic estate. The two venues are steps apart, creating a complete and effortless wedding day on the Costa Brava.

How many guests can attend a ceremony at Jardines de Santa Clotilde?

The gardens offer two ceremony configurations: the central garden terrace for up to 120 guests, and the natural amphitheatre for up to 200. Different zones are priced differently — hire starts from €2,000 and ranges to €6,500. Contact us, and we'll match the right space to your guest count.

What type of ceremony can be held here?

Symbolic ceremonies are the most common — fully personalised vows in the gardens, with legal marriage completed separately in Spain or in your home country. Civil ceremonies require specific municipal coordination; Casamiga manages this process entirely in English for international couples.

How far are the gardens from Barcelona airport?

Approximately 75 minutes from Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) by car. Girona Airport (GRO) is approximately 45 minutes away — the most practical option for guests from the UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe. Casamiga arranges all guest transfers from both airports.

What is the minimum cost for a ceremony at Jardines de Santa Clotilde?

Venue hire for the ceremony starts from €2,000 and reaches €6,500 depending on the zone selected. This covers the gardens only — no catering. A full ceremony package, including Casamiga coordination, ceremony equipment, furniture, and sound, is priced separately. Contact us for a complete ceremony estimate.

How far in advance should we book?

A minimum of 6 months in advance is required. For peak season Saturday dates (June, September, October), we recommend booking 12–18 months ahead. Contact us now to check current availability for 2026 and 2027.
